Non-Migratory Cable: For use in applications where the cable will be touching polystyrene, polyurethane and other similar thermal insulations. Standard cable insulation can be compromised by a chemical reaction if it is in contact with polystyrene. The plasticiser will slowly leach out of the cable over time and cause the cable’s PVC material to become harder, more brittle and prone to cracking. Non-Migratory cable is now recommended to be used in Caravans, Cold Rooms, Transportable Buildings and Wall or Roofing insulation materials. 

In caravans applications 10mm cable is commonly used for high-current applications within the caravan itself, such as connections for large appliances or battery banks, rather than the external hook-up cable. It's a high-capacity cable suitable for carrying the significant electrical loads required by components like electric cookers, showers, and the main battery cables that power the internal 12V systems.
